135 people will represent
Washington State at the 2024
Democratic National Convention.

You could be one of them.

National Convention

The 2024 Democratic National Convention will be held on August 19-22, 2024 in Chicago. Washington’s national delegates will join Democrats from across the nation to hear from our leaders, interact with other delegates, and formally nominate the Democratic Party’s 2024 candidates for President and Vice President of the United States.

Washington will have 111 voting delegates and 8 alternates at the national convention, along with 12 standing committee members and 4 convention pages. Our Delegate Selection Plan specifies how and when they will be elected—you can read a summary of the plan, or read the full plan here.

Our Delegation

Washington State’s 111 delegates who will be eligible to vote at the 2024 Democratic National Convention include:

  • 60 elected delegates from the state’s ten congressional districts;
  • 20 elected at-large delegates;
  • 12 elected “party leader and elected official” delegates; and
  • 19 automatic delegates.

We will also elect 8 at-large alternates to attend the 2024 National Convention.

State Convention

The 2024 Washington State Democratic Convention will be held on June 21-23, 2024 in Bellevue. Over 1,000 delegates to the state convention were elected by the local Democratic Party organizations in the state’s 49 legislative districts, and will nominate the Party’s candidates for Governor and other statewide offices, approve the State Party’s official platform, and conduct other Party business. State convention delegates will also be eligible to attend caucuses in the state’s ten congressional districts, where they will vote on the election of national delegates.

Electoral College

Washington’s 12 electoral votes will be cast by a slate of Democratic electors if our presidential ticket wins the state. You can run to be on that slate and formally cast one of the 538 votes that will determine the outcome of the 2024 election.
